Muriel von Braun was born and lived most of her life in Venezuela before moving to the antipodes, to Finland. She now lives in Paris.
In Caracas, she began early to study painting, drawing and art history. She also studied at the Applied Arts Academy in Vienna (Austria) and at the École des Beaux Arts in Geneva (Switzerland).
Later she studied serigraphy, with Luis Chacón (Venezuela) and engraving/monotypes in France and Finland (Visa Norros), photography and audiovisual resources in Mexico, sculpture (Finland and France) and painting (Venezuela, France).
With university degrees in literature and foreign affairs, she presently works in sculpture, drawing and painting in Helsinki (Finland) and in Paris. She has lately begun exploring the visuals of digitized images for large screen projection and other reproduction means.
She has participated in several collective and solo exhibitions in Venezuela, Finland, Japan and France (Galerie Servandoni in Paris (2004 and 2006), ArtFront Gallery in Tokyo, Japan (November 2006), Laterna Magica (Helsinki 2011), Galerie Feuillantine (Paris 2013), Galerie Rivoli 59, Galerie 3F Montmartre (Paris 2013), Salon Art Shopping, Paris 2015, Salon d’Automne, Paris, 2018-24. In close collaboration with internationally acclaimed actress and theater director Diana Volpe, she designed the stage set for the Canadian theater group “Some-Times Y Theatre” in Tokyo, Japan and for the same group performing at the Dance House theater in Manchester, UK.
She received the Prize ADAGP for the Digital Section of the Salon d’Automne 2020, Paris.
Her works are in private collections in Venezuela, France, the USA, Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the U.K., Germany, Greece and Japan.
