STRINGS AND ELECTRONICS

The composer participants wrote pieces for 2-4 string instruments and electronics which were worked on together. The instrumentaists also Kaija Saariaho's 1st String Quartet Nymphéa. Brett Armstron prepared together with Magnus Lindberg a version for double bass of Aria from Partia for solo cello. Two improvisation performances were also prepared, one acoustic and the other electronic.

Tha Acequia Madre House lent itself well to the special needs of electronics. Apart from the musical work, excursions to the Bandelier National Monument, the Santuario de Chimayo and to several local restaurants added a special cultural dimension.

The final concert was part of the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. It was well attended and enthusiatically received.
